I think it's the best ballpoint I have ever owned, and i own about twelve ballpoints, and they are not Bics. I immediately bought a Nautilus for myself. The one I have is extraordinarily comfortable in the hand and well balanced. The opacity of the ink is terrific.

Nearly perfect, reasonably priced, ballpoint pen.

Things I look for in a great pen are smooth, non-skipping, ink flow; beautiful design; a comfortable grip; and great weight. This pen has almost everything you could want and at a reasonable price. I tried the roller ball version but prefer the ballpoint for it’s grip ring (that prevents ones fingers from slipping too far down the shaft of the pen). The craftsmanship is solid, and the finish is both sturdy and beautiful. There is some play between the snap-on cap and the body of the pen resulting in a cap that jiggles and rattles when the cap is in place. If and when Ellington ever adjusts this manufacturing tolerance to create a more solid connection, their pen might easily be confused with one of their high-end competitors whose pens are many times more expensive.
