The Grange Carrier — Instant-Release Harvest System

This was a gift for my daughter who is a Gardner and she loves it! Many times she goes to her garden to work without a basket. Now she can harvest anytime unexpectedly and be prepared!

I was excited to get this and actually ordered two. My opinion after using the harvesting apron is that the concept is good, but the execution of the design is lacking. I will admit that it worked well for larger vegetables like zucchini and large cucumbers, but for smaller vegetables, even standard sized tomatoes, it was lacking because as the pouch filled the tomatoes would fall out of the corners of the patch. That was even with all of the straps as tight as they could be fastened. It was especially frustrating on cherry tomatoes, jalapeños, and mini cucumbers. I am seriously considering modifying my aprons so they can be used for picking more than just two or three plants worth of produce. I think if the attaching portion of the pouch that drops down when you want to dump the produce would have been extended out to the corners of the pouch rather than just coming in partway from the corners, it would work much better. I only use it now for zucchini, large cucumbers, large poblano peppers, and produce that will not fall out of the corners as the weight of the produce in the pouch increases. I gave the product a two instead of a one because I think the material is a nice heavy duty materialand the harness attachments are OK.

It’s great having both hands free in the garden as I harvest. No heavy basket to have to keep bending over to move along the rows either.
