Star Spangled Rocket’s Red Glare
A great idea to commemorate America’s 250th. Also nice that it is a beginner rocket so more people can enjoy it, yet at the same time it’s larger, and using the 24mm engines makes for a more impressive flight than your normal beginner rocket. It was fun to build and fly on a C11-5 engine. I cut a spill hole in the chute and it came down controlled and steady. I hope to have it around awhile as a keepsake, but plan to fly it more, including with the D12-5 engines on the right day. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because the shock cord, which comes pre-attached had a significant cut in it and probably would’ve broken upon ejection. I noticed it late in the assembly process because the cut was down in the body tube. I just cut it off as far back as I could by pulling it through the bottom of the rocket, and using the remaining cord, made a traditional paper mount with wood glue. It was not a huge deal and worked fine, I’m just glad I noticed it. I realize things slip through the cracks sometimes. I started building Estes rockets over 50 years ago and recently got the bug again. Have purchased about 12 in the past couple of months for me or my grandson and am having a blast with them again.

Great set up for my 10 year old grandson. We launched on the 4th of July. Great celebration. Easy to build for him. Reminds me of my childhood. Very fond memories.

This was the first collectible Rocket I've ever gotten. Wish it was a bit higher skill but I understand the need to have as many people being able to build it. I will probably never fire it & risk losing or damaging it.
