I am returning to playing guitar after an absence of over 20 years. I quickly gravitated back to jazz. I was in several jazz bands in college, but I am not looking for that experience now. I want to play to entertain myself. I found chord melodies, and I can't get enough of them. My playing isn't professional quality, but I don't aspire for it to be at that level. This is why chord melodies are the focus of my playing. I have played chord melodies by various people, but I find those composed by Frank Vignola to be the best. They are easy yet challenging if that makes any sense. I learned "I'll be Seeing You" as a tribute to my deceased father. I am working on "When Sunny Gets Blue," and the chord choices are beautiful. I could play the last two chords over and over again and never get tired of the arrangement. When I get the ones I have down, I will be back for more.
