When my daughter unwrapped this she picked it up out of the box in the bubble wrap thinking the bubble wrap had a bottom on it to actually hold the drink bottle in it slipped straight out of the bubble wrap onto the floor and the paint has chipped off leaving my daughter’s birthday present chipped and a very unhappy girl also ordered a 20 Oz bumper for it off the same website to try cover the crack and it does not fit at all

This is my first Owala and while I love the design and the functionality of it so far, I've only had it since December and the pattern is already starting to chip and flake. Mind you, I'm not rough with my belongings and I haven't even dropped the thing once. I've only gently handwashed it, it has never been in the dishwasher, and I haven't kept any hot liquids in it.
On the positive side, I do like that the slender shape of the bottle lets me fit it into the bottle pocket of my bag, it keeps my water cold and doesn’t spill, and the FreeSip spout is pleasant to use.
I guess I'm just kind of disappointed that the cute design is already chipping even though I've been taking care of it and following the care instructions. For a more expensive water bottle, at least by my standards, I guess I was just hoping for better quality and a product that would last a long time. After all, it's meant to be reusable.
