No hype, just heart. My Trophy watch experience.
My first reaction when I put the watch on was simply: wow, what a beautiful watch. The big dial with very little case showing gives it an open, honest feel…almost like the watch is saying, “here’s your time, use it wisely.” I also really appreciate the flat crystal; it keeps everything clean and undistorted, which suits the character of the watch perfectly.
Before buying, I half-expected something too dressy, or maybe even a watch trying a bit too hard to look expensive. Instead, I found something that feels genuinely fun and full of personality. The different straps make a big difference , especially the blue fabric one with the colourful accents, which gives the watch a surprisingly modern vibe. At first glance the dial looks very simple, but the more you look, the more you notice its subtle character, especially those beautiful blue hands that pop instantly against the white background.
A big part of why I chose Trophy is that it’s designed in Canada. That really matters to me. Seeing “Designed in Montreal, Canada” along with the numbered engraving on the back makes it feel special, like I’m part of a smaller group of people who appreciate something thoughtful and well made.
The buying experience was excellent. The 20% off, extra strap, and especially the personal note from the founder made the whole thing feel personal rather than transactional, like I was being welcomed into a bit of an “if you know, you know” community.
Design-wise, I love the vintage feel, the clean dial without numerals, and the small seconds hand. The lack of lume is not a dealbreaker for me either; if anything, it makes the watch feel less gimmicky and more true to its simple, understated character.
On the wrist, the watch feels light, thin, and comfortable. Somehow both serious and playful at the same time. It’s different from the other watches in my collection, which is exactly what I wanted. When I glance at it, I immediately see the time without searching for the hands, which is refreshingly simple compared to some other more complicated watches.
For the price, this feels like an excellent deal: stainless steel case, sapphire crystal, great build quality, and designed in Canada. Even though it’s quartz rather than automatic, I actually like being able to just grab it and go.
In real life, I see myself wearing this a lot in the summer with short-sleeve button-up shirts, or rolled up sleeves, which I love to wear.
If someone asked whether Trophy is legit or just marketing hype, I’d say: don’t buy it if you’re expecting a Rolex. But if you want a simple, well-made, good-looking watch that feels great to wear and leaves you with no regrets, this is a fantastic choice, especially if you’re proud to support a Canadian brand.
Overall, from the website to ordering, tracking, packaging, the extra strap, the personal note, and the watch itself, the whole experience deserves a 10/10 from me. I hope to get another one soon. The Sandcrest? The Eclipse? Yes Yes!!
