Charity Trickett is probably the nicest girl in Hollywood. Set in the 90’s (best decade ever) Christine Stringer’s book is a refreshing tale on kindness in a world that desperately looses it. Charity tries to make it in Hollywood as a Canadian production assistant. She’s ambitious and awkward and oh so relatable. LA is everything she hoped for, in the beginning… I loved how Charity’s personality and goals were central in the book, rather than the romance. The thriller part made the difference for me, it made the story more layered and very original, I don’t think I’ve recently read a book so unique in its genre. As a fashion designer, it hit close to home. The fashion industry is one of the most toxic one. At times, it felt like selling my soul just to be able to work in it… So Charity’s journey made a lot of sense. Fun book & great narrations

What a fun story! This book had such nostalgia vibes! Between the witty titles of chapters and throw back to the 90’s with in the book- I loved it! The narration was fantastic! Julia Whelan really brought the story to life! The romance plot line between Kai and Charity was so sweet. It bounced easily off the narcissistic characters of Safron & some of the other people with in the work circle. I loved the friendships in this book as well as the found family aspect. Thank you to the author, audio library and spark press for the advance listener copy!

I’m still smiling

This book is hilarious. It’s nostalgic and fast paced with a great storyline. I don’t know about you but I have worked with a narcissistic coworker before and this book is spot on and gives you all the frustrations and feels for Trickett. I devoured the intermittent romance and great friendships. I don’t miss the 90s- CD, dial-up and flip phones. I absolutely love Julia Whalen and her narration style. If she narrates it I know I’m going to love it and this book doesn’t disappoint. I was lucky enough to get to use the new Audiobrary app and devoured the audiobook. It was an easy to use app with the ability to download only parts of the book. Which is great for my completely full storage on my phone. Julia did great characters and amazing flirty banter. Her narration is just pure gold. I also love the piracy storyline and how that is so relatable for authors and how much that has changed from the movie piracy to book piracy.
