Cumulus Tee | Printed Knitting Pattern

I have been knitting for around 74 years - all kinds of patterns. I feel this isn’t a well-written pattern. I am having to start to construct the neck using the photo and intuition - plus experience since the instructions are poor. An equally experienced knitter friend commented that she has found today’s patterns are generally not as well-written and they were in the past. I buy very few patterns and it is even rarer for me to purchase the yarn to go with it. I bought this only because I need V-necked t-shirts. I also find the yarn splits easily. The experienced hasn’t encouraged me to buy modern patterns again and definitely not to buy the yarn without handling it. It has worked out poor value for money.
