It draws their attention but it stays off even in their proximity.

My cat loved this ball. Out of the box it only lasted 15 minutes maximum. I have it the benefit of the doubt because it made noise. Her other 2 balls, that are a different brand, last at least half an hour, even after months of daily use. The battery in this just wasn't good and definitely not worth the money. It's only taken 17 days for this ball to completely die. I'm really disappointed in this product. The cat caves are wonderful. I wish that high quality carried through to this
