Cheap plastic like you would find in a cheap kids toy. Every time you use it all you're doing is scraping plastic off the angled wedges. The sharpening stone is so thin and flimsy you can't apply any pressure to sharpen your knife because it'll dip below the rails. It's a great concept just cheaply made and poor materials

Dont like it it turns when sharpening the knife and the steel slids to the side also wont recommend it
