The best recording of Also sprach Zarathustra,famous one.Many instruments run and run left,right upper,and down.Really,it's Karajan! Very few tape distortin exist,but no problem! Best choice of this one.

Karajan always did (Richard) Strauss well. And this recording, with the VPO, amply demonstrates this. Nice, spacious sound with good stage, but the upper strings shriek a bit in tutti, especially in the Zarathustra.
