Shelly Dimmer Gen4 US UL-Certified

Love Shelley! hope their acquisition by Schneider doesn't ruin Shelley or put their products out of reach to the average consumer. Consolidation of power and money rarely turns out to be a good thing for everyone.

Does what it's supposed to, but not clear what that is

First off, I know that I should have researched better, but I assumed (see the mistake already?) that the Shelly Dimmer would not only output variable voltage, but could also accept variable voltage as an input. It turns out this is NOT the case, you cannot smart-ify a plain 120V variable dimmer wall switch. I wanted to use an existing sliding dimmer to control a smart bulb. I wish there was a more clear statement about this on the product page for dummies in a rush like me. I also wish there was a shelly product that could take the input from a variable resistive device like a traditional rotary or slider dimming wall switch and publish it in a variable and keep output at full (detached for smart bulbs), or pass it through, or send it's own voltage instead (scaled dimming). My wife dislikes smart controls that have any kind of learning curve, so I'm doing my best to camouflage the system entirely, and there aren't really many solutions for this that aren't obviously "touch controls"
