2016 Silver Fox, Old Tree Wild Arbor Raw Pu-erh Cake - 100g Cake

I bought this tea cake for aging, so I cannot comment on the most important factor, how it tastes! What I will say is that the wrapping on the cake is beautiful and the reviews I've read of the un-aged tea leave me excited. I hope Whispering Pines continues to expand its raw pu-erh offerings!

Happy 5th anniversary Whispering Pines Tea and happy first raw cake production! I was very excited to get this cake. The wrapper artwork was beautiful and the pressing and leaf material were very nice. As recommended, I went with 190F/87C water temp. This helped work around most of the young bitterness and I also went with a little bit shorter steep times. This tea had a nice light, juicy body that thickened up a little bit in later steeps. It had a nice warming effect and very nice sweetness. I’m betting this cake will age wonderfully and I’m looking forward to seeing how it develops. I would say this is one of, if not definitely my favorite puerh I’ve ever had, and been drinking puerh for quite a while. This tea is complex, with great sweetness and viscosity. I would highly recommend this tea especially because it is a great price. Very satisfied with this! :yum:
