Resurrection Blend

I experimented with my usual Aeropress brewing method (see my review of the Reformation Roast for details), making a few adjustments to find the optimal flavor. This time, I increased the water temperature from my preferred 175°F to 195°F and used the standard orientation instead of the inverted method. I measured out one level scoop (15 grams) of coffee into the brewing chamber. Next, I pour 300 ml of water into a graduated measuring cup and wet just the grounds to allow them to bloom for about 30 seconds. After the bloom, I add the remainder of the water and stirred, moving the paddle in the shape of a cross in the brewing chamber. As the water level dropped, I add another 50 ml of room-temperature reverse osmosis (RO) water and stirred again. Then I insert the plunger and appy even pressure until I hear the hiss. This process results in a larger, highly enjoyable cup of coffee, so if you are trying to duplicate it use a largish mug. This blend has a noticeable sweetness, more pronounced than the Reformation Roast, and that sweetness becomes even more evident when brewed at 175°F. I wish the star rating system allowed for more nuance, as this coffee truly deserves a 4.5 out of 5.

I enjoy this coffee each time I might get it as it has nice flavor is old enough for me and yet is not a city and has no unfavorable aftertaste. A nice coffee for both in the morning as well as during midday.
