Another Hit for Liber & Co: Japanese Yuzu Syrup
Liber & Co's Japanese Yuzu Syrup is superb and elegant. It is excellent and I find it most enjoyable. It's another grand slam for Liber & Co. I wasn't sure what to expect, not being familiar with Yuzu (the fruit). When I ordered it I was a bit afraid that it would be cloyingly sweet. It was not. It has a subtle complexity which is most pleasing. It is not a simple citrus note syrup. It is elegant, layered, fragrant, and balanced. I used it first in this simple cocktail recipe. I wanted something more simple to basically showcase the Yuzu syrup. It was great.
2 oz gin
½ oz yuzu syrup
½ oz fresh lemon juice
It elevated the drink, the taste experience, in a way that lemon and/or lime do not on their own. It made me stop and say, "This is interesting:" Interesting in the very best and adventurous way. This is what I picked up...
Aroma: Immediate floral citrus. Lemon blossom, grapefruit zest,.
Initial taste: Bright citrus with moderate sweetness.
Mid-palate: Tangerine-like fruit followed by layered acidity.
Finish: Floral but not "perfumy". Oils linger while a gentle grapefruit bitterness
dries the finish.

Yuzu
The Yuzu syrup is fantastic, it has a bright fresh flavor that really comes through in cocktails. On the palate i get lemon drop candy. Ive made several cocktails with it but my favorite has been a Gin gimlet were I use the Yuzu syrup in place of lime cordial, two ingredients Gin and Yuzu syrup. It is a summer banger!

Excellent New Syrup
Love the mixture of sweetness and citrus bite in the new Japanese Yuzu syrup. I use it all kinds of cocktails that have lime juice and simple syrup and it makes them all better.
