Strong, stable and clear message containing new Petra album
I was REALLY surprised when I first heard that Petra has made a new record. I didn't expect this after the "Farewell-Tour". Their last studio album was "Jekyll & Hyde" - straight hard rock, almost heavy metal. The new record, "Hope", is brillantly produced. A little disappointing (for me, taste is a personal thing of course) was they didn't continue that straght almost metal style they had with "Jeckyll & Hyde". I've got the impression Petra wanted to reach Fans of all their different creative periods - so there are style elements even of the early records. It's a good mixture. The best and most important fact for me is that they started with a Christ elevating song - full of biblical confessions throughout the album. Listening to the record there is no doubt Petra puts Jesus first. Hallelujah!

Love it!
Lyrically, it's as strong as ever! Musically it reminds me of the On Fire album. "Oxygen" was the surprise song of the album for me. A sound I did not expect. "Kiss the Coals" and "Miracle Maker" are my favorites on the album. I've listened to it over and over, and it's been a source of inspiration and encouragement, like every Petra album. My only question...who has the bigger insurance policy...Bob on his fingers, or John on his voice? Congrats on another great release!
