Time to Shine

Needed this one for my keeper shelf

I bought this book for my keeper shelf because it's my favourite Rachel Reid book -- don't tell Shane and Ilya, because I love them too! The contrast between the two main characters is wonderful, and they each bring such full embrace and acceptance of the other. One is very reserved and rather isolated, while the other has a very hyperactive flavour of ADHD and is the life of every party. They seem like a terrible fit for each other, yet when they start revealing their biggest fears and sources of shame to one another out of sheer necessity, they find that each of them makes a pretty great place of safety for the other. A beautiful representation of a hyper/hypo-sexual partners match that is deeply caring, respectful, and enthusiastic. The family representation is also, as always with Rachel Reid, meaningful and woven throughout.
