Custom Chrono-Grip Hook Strap™

I’ve been a huge fan of Erika’s Originals for several years, but in looking for alternatives that would still allow me to see caseback engraving, I re-discovered Nick Mankey Designs. I went for the custom chrono-grip in classic elastic, with titanium hook, in a zero pass configuration. All black. I had accidentally ordered performance elastic, but communication with Nick was super flat and fast. There was no issue at all getting my order corrected and everything shipped within a few days. The material is super soft and comfy. It definitely takes some time to get everything set up to your liking and to get the technique down but all in all it seems to be a pretty great strap. As an added bonus, these are significantly less expensive than Erika’s, while still providing a lot of options, and they are assembled right here in America. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another one and am already looking at options for an incoming unit watch.

I like this in standard configuration more than the classic hook strap, as it is more adjustable. I had a difficult time determining one product from another of the website. Although the price is to be expected for a handmade product, I do find it to be a bit prohibitive. It is nice, however, to be able to buy just a strap and to reuse the same chrono-grip hook. The strap itself is far more comfortable and better performing than the standard silicone strap on my smart watch and a little better than a NATO band on my analog watch.

The Steel Grey Pro is my second custom chrono-grip. My first was the OD Green Pro and it is still in great condition after a couple months of use. I often wear while running and regularly give a soapy rinse after. It dries quickly and has barely shown any signs of wear. The hardware is extremely secure. I never have to adjust the fit.
