I have very mixed feelings about Captain's Reserve. This is the first shaving cream I tried from Black Ship. In fact, it's the first anything I tried. First the good. It smells FANTASTIC!!! This is perfect for the hot season. It smells like a refreshing tropical drink. It's wonderful. Now the bad. The cream arrived dried out. I am having to use it like a soap. It's not a cream at all. Next, I tried to contact Black Ship about this and to date, I have received no response. Now for the I don't know. The fragrance that is so special, is already almost gone, after only a couple of weeks. It is possible if it wasn't so dried out, the fragrance might last much longer. Secondly, the performance is fair. I have sensitive skin and I prefer a product with plenty of lubrication to give me a close, but comfortable shave. This too, might be much better if the product wasn't dried out. My opinion is definitely middle of the road. The product has DEFINITE possibilities, but I don't think I would buy it again if this is the normal consistency.
