Great Little Teapot
Very well made and beautiful.
It pours smooth and filters great.
Easy to get tea in and out with the relatively large lid.

Easy to tell the difference between good quality and bad
The pot has a nice weight to it, with an exterior texture that is smooth and polished in some places, rough in others. The picture above doesn't do a good job of capturing the subtle green-gold color on the lid and the shoulder of the pot. Quite pretty. The inside of the pot shows the tool marks used by the craftsman, and is also quite pretty in it's own way. The filter sits flush with the wall of the pot, not extending like a ball into the body of the vessel. I don't know if this is considered good or bad in the greater teapot community, but it has poured smoothly and reasonably quickly for me.
I wanted to specifically mention the filter and the pour, because at roughly the same time I bought this pot, I bought a very similar one from another maker. This one is significantly better. The spout is a little wider, the pour is faster and smoother, the woodfire makes it more visually intersting, it's just all around a better pot. The other pot isn't bad. I'm still using it. But I have this pot six inches from my hand right now, and I'm about to go make myself another cup of tea with it. If you are in the market for a smaller pot, this is a very good one.
