Discovery Set: Majestic China

Beautil set complete with paper for testing scents. 100% going to grab a full bottle of Pomelo Oolong. Never had or tried a tea scent that smells more like actual tea. Its gorgeous!

I was honestly very surprised by this collection. I already knew what Pomelo Oolong smelled like and absolutely loved it. Mooncake really caught me off guard. It has a very strong bean paste scent. Princess of China didn’t stand out much to me. It smells very similar to Spring Festival, just with a slightly more floral twist. Unfortunately, I didn’t like Spring Festival at all, it reminded me of the bug spray we were made to wear in China before going outside, which made it hard to enjoy. Silk Road and Chinese Calligraphy also smelled very similar to each other. Silk Road leaned heavily into a tobacco scent, while Chinese Calligraphy dried down into the exact smell of Vietnamese Coffee. Overall, the collection felt a bit rushed. Pomelo Oolong seems the most perfected, and Mooncake stands out for how realistic it is, but the rest of the fragrances either smelled too similar to each other or had undertones of previous fragrances D’Annam has already released.

Wonderful scents, beautiful packaging. I bought these for my wife for her birthday sonce we can’t afford to go to China, but I hope this brings wonderful memories back to her. Personal favorite is Pomelo Oolong, hers is Princess of China.
