Vertical Shifter or Emergency Brake Boot with Trim Ring and Cap

I purchased this Dual Action Push Button Floor Shifter for my 57 F100 truck. I have a Chevy 400 engine under the hood, paired with a 700R4 transmission. The column shifter that it came with was very clunky/choppy, with all of the shifting happening within about one inch - So very awkward. I had my mechanic install the floor shifter without the push button option, figured I would keep it simple. I absolutely love this shifter, the shifting is now butter smooth, not to mention very cool looking. I opted for the 16" single bend shifter arm, which seems to be the perfect height. I've seen the 22", and it looks way to high, almost level with the dash. They do offer much smaller versions if that is what you need. The shifter boot/ring ended up not working for me, the ring needed to be about 1 1/2" bigger in diameter. I ended up jimmy rigging it with just the boot for now, not a big deal, I'll get into all that when I install new floor carpet, etc. American Shifter has really good customer service, super easy to communicate with, they answer the phone and talk to you. I highly recommend this product!
