No horribly plastic smell out the box, ready to put together and good for my 7 month old to roll and crawl on.

This mat is nice to look at and nice for early crawlers it’s easy to put together as well. However it’s slippery and the playpen moves on it with or without the suction cups. My 8 month old can push it across the mat. A little disappointed about that part.
