Flat iron works well and gives a silky smooth feel. I have the infrared flat iron as well, and this one is similar but seems to make my hair more silky. It does take a bit longer to fully heat up, and if I don't wait it will leave marks on my hair. The ceramic plates are also not as smooth as the titanium ones, so it took a little getting used to. Overall, I like it and the results are great.
