I haven't travelled with it on a flight yet. However, I've tested fitting my bike into the case and it fits well and feels safe. I'm happy with the product.

For peace of mind you can't go past a hard case. A little more fiddly packing and unpacking but it is worth it. This version is more mobile and easier to travel with. Sure there are downsides of a hard case but the trade-offs are worth it.
