Women's Breeze 2 Mesh Jacket

I've always appreciated the quality for the price of Gryphon products, however this jacket seems to have a slightly poor fit for me. I have wide shoulders and long arms, and my Gryphon touring jacket W's (L) fits well, however the Breeze 2 Mesh Jacket (also in L) is a bit over-sized, especially in the arms. There is way too much room in the arms. I can't get the cinch straps to tighten far enough so the elbow pads are sloppy and don't stay in place properly. I'm considering returning / exchanging and trying a medium, however I'm not sure if down-sizing will solve the issue or present other issues (such as being too tight through the shoulders). I do like the features and pockets of this jacket and have no doubt that the ventilation will work well on warmer days.
