A Nice Surprise

Alex Lifeson's solo is a distinct departure from the sound of Rush which is a good thing. Some simpler in your face compositions but still with a little guitar flare. He wasn't afraid to try something new while keeping it gritty with the energy of Edwin and the other singers. There's a bit of variety here too especially with some interesting instrumental additions on the latest release. I'd like to see more of this experimentation from Lifeson. Perhaps an album collab with the Rheostatics would be icing on the cake!
