Spice Cake - Las Flores Decaf

What a winter treat!

The “spice” in the name doesn’t lie—did they mix cloves into this one? With the slight orange notes (more in the nose than taste) and sweetness, this gives it a very Christmassy, or maybe even slightly oriental, profile. It hits a little weaker overall than I would have expected, but then again I’m much more used to non-decafs, even though I regularly order here (mostly because my girlfriend has to watch out about her caffeine intake, and I still want good specialty coffee for her). Maybe I’ll really have to go with more beans or less water with this one than I usually do (aeropress).
