Ronseal Ultimate Protection Decking Stain

The Decking I use this on is in the middle of Wales so gets some harsh treatment from the weather tried a few but as others on the site have done we all come back to ronseal. Great stuff

The problem is determining what colour to buy. The very small colour pictures do not resemble the actual colour. In the end I bought a small Cedar and a large Country Oak and mixed them to get the colour I wanted but it was guesswork. Even the colours on the Ronseal website are not true to life. My advice to anyone unsure is to look around the internet for examples but even that can be misleading. The actual finish I gotI am very pleased with hence the 4 stars. Be sure to prepare the surface well to allow the stain to soak into the wood. I used Potassium Hydroxide to remove the old oil/stain which worked really well and then neutralise with oxalic acid. It is such a shame that Ronseal does not do small sample pots to try first. Good product once you get the right colour.
