Resin cover is solid, firm, weighty and stylish. Darker than depicted in the "showroom" picture, but still a deep, draconic red. The paper is beautiful, but dislike the "removable" book feature; given the density of pages the book has, would be much preferred if the pages were bound to the internals of the cover; having the pages slide out every time you lift the journal up is irritating. Also, bottom right front corner snapped off in shipping. I put that down to the delivery company rather than the makers, still disappointing to have to glue the piece back on myself.

It looks just like the picture. A bit heavier than I thought but I think will be a great gift.
