Poor quality 6-Bolt ACL Oil Pump

I’m beyond frustrated with this oil pump. I installed it on my Plymouth Laser, and within just 500 miles, the oil seal behind the sprocket was pushed out. That’s not just an inconvenience, thats a serious failure that could have led to major engine damage. I replaced the seal hoping it was a fluke, but it started leaking again after only a single day. To be clear this was not an installation issue. I used the correct gaskets, followed proper procedures, and torqued everything exactly to spec. There’s no excuse for a part failing this quickly under normal conditions. What makes this even worse is that this isn’t an isolated incident for me. I previously ordered one for my 91 Eagle Talon, and it arrived with a hairline crack that caused a leak right out of the box. That points to serious and consistent quality control problems. I’ve actually purchased multiple quality parts through STM Tuned Inc in the past without any problems which is why this is so disappointing. I’ve been a loyal customer and trusted this company but experiences like this make it very hard to continue doing so. At this point I’ve lost confidence in this product entirely. Between repeated failures and poor quality I cannot recommend it to anyone. If you’re considering this oil pump, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, RockAuto would be a much safer bet.

I replaced the seal, thinking it might have been a one-off issue, but it started leaking again after only a day. To be clear, this wasn’t an installation error. I used the proper gaskets, followed correct procedures, and torqued everything to spec. This shouldn’t be happening with a new part. What’s even more frustrating is that this isn’t my first issue with this type of part. I previously ordered one for my Eagle Talon about five years ago, and it arrived with a hairline crack that caused a leak right out of the box. I want to add that I’ve purchased multiple quality parts through STM Tuned Inc in the past without any issues, which is why this experience is especially disappointing. I’ve been a loyal customer, so I expected a higher level of quality and reliability. Between poor quality control and repeated failures, I can’t recommend THIS product. If you’re considering buying this oil pump, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. RockAuto would be a better place to start.
