Acts of service.
That’s my love language. Especially when the effort matched their words. But, I’ve had the worst luck with men. While I wasn’t necessarily looking for a man, that all changed when an unexpected knock came to my door.

Unexpected Connection
I was truly happy that Sevyn finally got her story, and Lucky # Sevyn ended up being one of the most emotionally resonant listens in the series for me.
This story follows Sevyn, a woman whose love language is acts of service and who has had more than her fair share of disappointment in relationships. Enter E’Lyjah, whose quiet confidence, effort, and care show her what it looks like when love is intentional and nurturing.
What stood out most to me was how emotional this story felt. Hearing Sevyn articulate her love language made me realize just how much I relate—acts of service has always been mine too. I also saw myself in Sevyn physically. As a dark-skinned, plus-size Black woman, the representation—from her character to the cover—felt incredibly validating.
Ashanti As Hell and Kay Eye brought Sevyn and E’Lyjah to life with warmth and genuine chemistry. Their connection felt easy, respectful, and deeply caring—exactly what the story required.
This was touching, affirming, and satisfying in all the ways I hoped it would be.
