Great!…but…

Well built worth the money, yes. I do wish it had a higher brim in the front, much lower than a ball cap or even other brim hats I like more because they have a higher taller flatter brim. This one requires it be worn back on the head and still have to lift head higher than is comfortable for long periods of sail trimming. Maybe better for surf or other sports than sailing. Ear flaps are great for the sun and the chin strap is comfortable. Wish it had a higher flatter brim…

Bucket bump hat way better than expected.

Works for several reasons: 1) comfortable and not hot, 2) maintains shape in higher winds, 3) the protection is where it needs to be 4) the strap actually works where it sits under your chin and doesn’t get caught up in PFD and other gear. On that point, you can flip up the back of the rim and it won’t get hung up either. Very helpful when you have sunglasses, pfd, and radio attached or an additional lanyard for a multi tool. For looks-better than the pictures show. Buddies liked it also; doesn’t look like PPE. Mind you, it really isn’t, but it’s better than a ball cap when you’re scrambling back on your flipped catamaran you just pushed too hard… The Vaikobi logo could be a bit more deserving of the brand- it’s a rubber square that looks like an afterthought. That’s the only “negative” I’ve got on the hat. It’s going to get water time. A lot of water time.
